A Short Biography
My name is Austin Crawford and I am currently a senior at Missouri State University. If everything goes to plan, I will be graduating in December 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Secondary English education. I graduated from Hickory County R-1 high school in 2007. I grew up 6 miles down the road in a town called Preston, MO, with a population of barely 100 people. All throughout high school I enjoyed English classes and the writing assignments that came with them. It wasn't until I was in my second semester at Ozarks Technical Community College that I discovered the joy of reading. My favorite book so far is probably The Stand by Stephen King, but some of my close favorites are Absalom, Absalom!, Invisible Man, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Gravity's Rainbow, the Dark Tower series, As I Lay Dying, and Light In August. If it has anything to do with literature, I will probably be interested in it. I also love watching movies and talking about movies, and I am also a diehard Kansas City Chiefs Fan. It was my love of reading and enjoyment of writing that lead me to wanting to teach high school English, but Brandy, my sister, also repeatedly told me she thought I would be a good teacher. Hopefully she was right.
